Course 1 – Boilers and Boiler Equipment – Part 1

Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with the basic construction, operation and nomenclature of boilers and their auxiliary equipment. It is recommended that persons should have successfully completed Module 1, Rigging and Lifting and Module 3, Packing and Seals of this program, or their equivalents.

Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers inspection and repair of boiler tubes and repair of auxiliary equipment, such as sootblowers and gauge glasses. This program also focuses on identifying boiler tube damage, preparing to install a new section of tuble and installing a replacement tube.



Course 2 – Boilers and Boiler Equipment – Part 2

Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with the basic construction, operation and nomenclature of boilers and their auxiliary equipment. It is recommended that persons should have successfully completed Module 1, Rigging and Lifting and Module 3, Packing and Seals of this program, or their equivalents.

Description: This comprehensive DVD training program discusses the basic operation of a gauge glass. The course covers the removal of the packing and separating of the gauge glass and water column, the disassembling of each of the gauge glass ports and the drawing of a steam drum and gauge glass.



Course 3 – Coal and Ash Handling Equipment – Part 1

Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with standard maintenance procedures for valve packing, use of basic hand tools and rigging and lifting.

Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers the procedures for splicing conveyor belts, reblading and balancing pulverizer exhausters, and repairing ash handling valves and exhausters. This program shows the various maintenance activities being per­formed on actual plant equipment.



Course 4 – Coal and Ash Handling Equipment – Part 2

Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with standard maintenance procedures for valve packing, use of basic hand tools and rigging and lifting.

Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers the procedures for re-blading and balancing a pulverizer exhauster, disassembling a control valve and removing the seat and disc. This program shows how to reassemble an air piston operator and assemble a water jet exhauster.



Course 5 – Diesel Engines – Part 1

Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with basic hand tools and measuring instruments.

Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers basic diesel engine operation including the function, operation and maintenance of the air intake system, fuel system, exhaust system, lubricating oil system and cooling system. Maintenance jobs commonly performed on each of these systems are explained and demonstrated on stationary and automotive diesel engines. This program also focuses on engine operation, the air intake system, the exhaust system and the cooling system.



Course 6 – Diesel Engines – Part 2

Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with basic hand tools and measuring instruments.

Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers basic diesel engine operation including the function, operation and maintenance of the air intake system, fuel system, exhaust system, lubricating oil system and cooling system. Maintenance jobs commonly performed on each of these systems are explained and demonstrated on stationary and automotive diesel engines. This program also focuses on checking oil levels, changing the oil, maintaing an oil filter housing and replacing a dry element air cleaner.



Course 7 – Diesel Engines – Part 3

Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with basic hand tools and measuring instruments.

Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers basic diesel engine operation including the function, operation and maintenance of the air intake system, fuel system, exhaust system, lubricating oil system and cooling system. Maintenance jobs commonly performed on each of these systems are explained and demonstrated on stationary and automotive diesel engines. This program also focuses on draining a fuel tank, removing and reinstalling a fuel filter, engine timing and and checking exhaust valve and injector timing.



Course 8 – Hydraluic Equipment – Part 1

Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with the use of hand tools and measuring instruments and general shop practices.

Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers the maintenance of hydraulic systems. This program shows the various maintenance activities being performed on actual plant equipment and focuses on basic hydraulic systems, hydraulic cylinder disassembly and reassembly, shaft runout and control valve inspection and reassembly.



Course 9 – Hydraluic Equipment – Part 2

Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with the use of hand tools and measuring instruments and general shop practices.

Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers the maintenance of hydraulic systems. This program shows the various maintenance activities being performed on actual plant equipment and focuses on gear pump disassembly and reassembly, parts inspection, and vane pump disassembly and reassembly.



Course 10 – Auxiliary Steam Turbines – Part 1

Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with basic hand tools, measuring instruments, rigging and lifting equipment, bearing maintenance and lubrication and safety practices when working with equipment.

Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers operating principles, maintenance and adjustments and operational tests of auxiliary steam turbines. This program focuses on turbine operation, removing the casing, measuring thrust and removing and measuring carbon rings.



Course 11 – Auxiliary Steam Turbines – Part 2

Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with basic hand tools, measuring instruments, rigging and lifting equipment, bearing maintenance and lubrication and safety practices when working with equipment.

Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers operating principles, maintenance and adjustments and operational tests of auxiliary steam turbines. This program focuses on cleaning and inspecting turbine parts, adjusting nozzle clearances, installing the packing and wheel cover and turbine overhaul guidelines.



Course 12 – Auxiliary Steam Turbines – Part 3

Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with basic hand tools, measuring instruments, rigging and lifting equipment, bearing maintenance and lubrication and safety practices when working with equipment.

Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers operating principles, maintenance and adjustments and operational tests of auxiliary steam turbines. This program focuses on mechanical and hydraulic governors, overspeed trip mechanisms and overspeed sensor maintenance.
